In my house we love to use lemons, spices, herbs and lots of nice tasty things, the thing is though sometimes I don’t need to use all of what I have cut up and I honestly hate throwing anything useful in the bin, especially food..! So when I came across this awesome idea, I was excited to do it next time I had almost anything leftover, I even went out and picked up a few extra freezer trays just in case 🙂 So what you do is if you have anything like lemons and limes, put them and some water in the cube tray and next time you want a nice fresh, then drink pour yourself a glass of cold water, pop one or two of your lemon and lime ice cubes out and voila! 😉
Or if you have any left over herbs, you can put them in the ice cube tray. Pour some olive oil on top and put them in the freezer and pop out any time you need to use some.. easy!!
Here’s a yummy one for you guys, melt some chocolate and put a strawberry on top, pop them out and when you feel like a little tasty treat and you will be happy out <3
Another good use for the cube tray isn’t for freezer use.. For example, how annoying is it when you’re running out the door and you’re rooting through your bags and stuff for an earring or even worse, the back off an earring :/ Well root no more, take your cube tray and fill it up with your earrings/ the backs off them, rings and any other little bits and pieces that will fit in it. Or for all you mamas out there how about filling the cube trays with some snakes for your little ones? Grapes cut in half, bits of orange, cubes of apple, raisins, squares of cheese, there’s loads to choose from! It’s a good way to give them some variety and its more fun for them rather then a plate. Or here’s another for the toddlers (that understand crayons are NOT food) pop a few crayons in them and let them draw you a nice picture! So go get your plain boring ice cube trays and breathe some new life and colour into them, have fun!
