Who’d have known? Talcum Powder

Who’d have known? Talcum Powder

Talcum powder seems to have been around forever and is probably one of the first skin products our body’s ever encountered. Now that we have all outgrown our diapers, don’t think of talcum powder as a thing of the past! Low and behold, talcum powder is a major factor in most of your favourite makeup products, even the most expensive designer brands resort back to this household beauty staple. There are plenty of tricks to using talc in more ways than you thought, here are some of my favourite.

Thicker fuller lashes: Apply your first layer of mascara as you usually would. Immediately after, use a cotton bud or an old mascara wand to coat your lashes with talcum powder while your mascara is still wet. After 30 seconds, apply your second layer of mascara concealing the talc to give you thicker longer looking lashes.

Transform your lippy to a matte texture: Trying to keep up with the ever changing trends can be harsh on your poor pockets, so after dishing out on lipsticks, (in every shade under the sun) now you’re finding out they are all obsolete as they are not the trending texture? Drag.. Don’t worry though, because talc can save the day! Simply apply your chosen lip colour, then blot it with tissue paper. Now all you have to do is apply some talc to your lips, the talc will soak up the remaining oils from your lipstick and leave you with that trending matte finish.
